Well That Didn’t Work

I had an idea of what I wanted this website to be. With the help of a dear friend we worked on it . Then we didn’t. We got together on Zoom and caught up. We talked about new designs and ideas. But then we went months without getting anything much done.

All the while I kept thinking I couldn’t write or post until we had the framework fine tuned and all the colors just right.

The website is still a bit of a mess but that’s my life.

Today I worked on my calendar for the next 4 months. It’s going to be fun. It’s going to be what I make of it.

First thing I realized is that they redesigned a lot of the functions, layout and features of WordPress while I was ignoring it. I’m going to have to learn some of it all over again Since change is both part of my journey and a major obstacle at the same time, the irony of being a Renaissance Wife is not lost on me,

The second thing is that most of the events and activities I am setting up on my personal calendar are not really original or novel but resurrections of ideas that have been done before by others that for reasons unknown to me, they stopped doing. I may come to the same decision some day but not today. Today I plan and dream and schedule and post and hope others are up for some fun.

As every good sermon needs three points and a poem, I must point out that my life is what I choose to make of it. I get to decide where to invest my time, energy and resources. So do you. Let’s have some fun.

And for the poem…

Congratulations! Today is your day.
You’re off to Great Places! You’re off and away!
You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes.
You can steer yourself any direction you choose.
You’re on your own. Any you know what you know.
And YOU are the one who’ll decide where to go.
You’ll look up and down streets. Look ’em over with care.
About some you will say. “I don’t choose to go there.”
With your head full of brain and your shoes full of feet,
you’re too smart to go down any not-so-good street.
And you may not find any you’ll want to go down.
In that case, of course, you’ll head straight out of town.
It’s opener there in the wide open air,
Out there things can happen and frequently do
to people as brainy and footsy as you.
And when things start to happen, don’t worry. Don’t stew.
Just go right along. You’ll start happening, too!
